Transfer Funds From One CloudResearch User to Another

Aaron Moss, PhD

Academic research is a collaborative endeavor. Faculty members work with post-docs, grad students, and undergrads. Sometimes one lab collaborates with another. During the course of such work, resources sometimes need to be shared or redistributed. At CloudResearch, we have sought to make part of this sharing easier by allowing researchers to transfer funds from one user’s lab balance to another. In this blog, we demonstrate how to use this feature.

In order to transfer funds from your CloudResearch Lab balance into another user’s CloudResearch Lab balance, find the Transfer Funds option in the dropdown beneath the user icon on the main header.

On the next page, you will see a simple set of options for transferring funds. Enter the email address associated with the account you want to transfer funds to, the amount you want to transfer, and any message you want the person receiving funds to see. If you would like to transfer funds to more than one person, simply add a row and fill in that person’s information. Once you’re ready to execute the transaction, click Transfer Funds. The money will be sent to the person’s account immediately, and there is no limit on the amount you can transfer.

Addendum

We know several researchers would like the option to transfer funds between their MTurk balance and their CloudResearch lab balance. However, because MTurk and CloudResearch are separate companies, this is currently not possible. We also know that researchers often need to track spending or share money in ways that go beyond what they currently can do. For this reason, we’re working on expanding our set of classroom and lab tools to make collaboration among researchers and labs even easier.
